According to OSHA, one in every five workplace fatalities occurs in the construction industry. It is your job to do everything you can to stay safe. Begin learning the following ten rules of safety. They should become second nature to everyone on the job site.
- Use your tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment the way they were designed and intended for.
- Wear your hard hat and safety equipment at all times where required.
- Inspect your equipment daily.
- Only perform tasks for which you have been trained and authorized.
- Understand your company safety rules and policies.
- Take responsibility for yourself and your co-workers.
- Correct or report all unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
- Accept the “zero accident” philosophy.
- Get Involved with your company safety program.
